Beach Capital of India !

It’s March, and the temperature is soaring, where would you like to head for the weekend? To the cool waters of Goa – the land of Sea, Sun and Sand !

Stretched over a coastline of 106 kilometres (66 miles) Goa boasts of 32 beaches, freckled with swaying coconut palms.

It has also been called Pearl of the Orient and Rome of the East, signifying its natural beauty.

As per the legend, Goa was called Gomantakesha, created by Parshuram (an avatar of Lord Vishnu) to resemble a winnowing pan. And this was achieved by ordering the mountains to recede and the sea to advance – nature’s wonder ! It was also known as Kashi (Benaras) of the South.
